Ahhhh... springtime...We can feel it in the air. It is the favorite time of year for many. With Refuge having a family on the Missionfield in Santiago, Chile, though, our "worldwide expertise" is increasing. In the southern hemisphere, they are entering the "fall" season. The southern hemisphere, as you may or may not know, has opposite seasons. We have a group from Refuge that will be visiting our Chilean Missionaries in July - which will be the middle of summer for us, but they will have to pack their winter wardrobe since it will be in the middle of winter there! This world is a very interesting and awesome place. Our Creator had it all thought out though, and as much as He knows about that, He knows even more about YOU. His word says the hairs of our head are numbered. What a mighty God we serve!!!! Enjoy your Springtime. Summer will be here before you know it!
Yes it is!!!! 2016 is here!!! What does God have in store? At Refuge we feel a rumbling going on. Good things are ahead. We are working hard to reach the Parker Community that surrounds us, we feel God has the right people in the right places at the right time and we are about to see His wonders in front of our eyes! We are beginning our year with a strong emphasis on fasting and prayer, travailing for the souls of our community, our loved ones, and our co-workers! Join us in the effort we are embarking upon and help us in the fight. If you don't have a church home, we have a great one!
It is so hard to believe that it is already November! The time is truly flying by even more quickly than it seems last year. Jesus is coming soon and the days are shorter for sure! Time is running out. Time for holidays, time for Christmas shopping, and time to bring in those who are lost and dying without Jesus.
As we begin our holiday festivities, use this time to be a witness to your friends and family about the wonderful Jesus we serve and the Heavenly Father who cares for us on a minute by minute basis. Don't get lost in the holiday preparations and food and gifts, remember HIM. We love you and can't believe this year is almost history.
So...what will you do with 2016? It's not too early to be thinking of that. What changes will you make in your life? What more will you do for HIM. We might not even see 2016...and if we do....it could be the last New Year's Day we celebrate. Yes...His coming is THAT close! We love you!
It's hard to believe, but fall is in the air! This year is flying by and it seems as the years pass, they are in hyper-speed! Refuge has been very busy this year, but there is still much to be done! School is back in session, our regular Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries are back in gear, and Wednesday night meals have begun again! Before we can blink an eye, we will be Christmas Shopping! Don't let the days pass so quickly that you forget your private relationship time with Jesus! If we are not careful, an entire week will pass us by and we have not even been in God's word once. As the school year begins, make it a practice to begin Sunday school as well, if you haven't been doing that. Enjoy the football games and the cookouts, but let's not forget what there is to be done for the Kingdom!
Wow...it has been a whirlwind of a summer! We are coming to the end of the summer...school will begin soon. VBS was a tremendous success, out Centrefuge student enjoyed a great time at Youth Camp, and Summerfuge...WOW...what can we say about that! We have seen God do some amazing things in a few weeks, but the year isn't over yet.
We will soon be getting back into our "routines" and back to "business as usual" but we have had some great enrichment and encouragement throughout the summer months! Join us...there's a lot more ahead!
It's here again...Father's Day. What a great day for many, and what a hard day for many more. I personally have the best daddy in the whole wide world and God has been so good to me and our family. I have married a wonderful husband who has been an amazing father to our children, and again I have experienced the blessings of God. But there are so many out there who will grieve tomorrow, for many reasons. Some, like my husband, will grieve because this is his first Father's Day since the passing of his father 3 short months ago. However, because his father was a Godly man and a great dad, the sorrow will be because we miss him. Others are not so fortunate. They don't have great memories of a wonderful daddy. They could even have horrible memories, or sadly even no memories at all.
As bad as that is, there is help. If you are a one of those fathers who has not been the dad you should have been, if you still have breath, you still have hope. Turn your life over to Jesus and allow him to make you the daddy you need to be. He will forgive and He can speak to your families and help them. If you haven't had a dad, or yours wasn't who he should have been, turn to Jesus and He will be the peace and comfort that you never found in your earthly dad.
Be with us at Refuge tomorrow, and make this Fathers Day the best one yet!
May is such a busy month! Mother's Day, Graduations, Pentecost Sunday, Memorial Day Holiday, another school year coming to a close...whew!!!!! If we are not careful, we will get wrapped up in all the "stuff" that comes with May and completely forget about the important things, like serving Jesus and spending time with Him. After all, that's all the really matters!
We must always keep our focus, even when our days get shorter because we have to pack so many things into them. Our personal devotion and prayer time mustn't be trumped by all the things that we must get to throughout our day.
A wise man once said "If you're too busy for God, you're too busy!" Don't be too busy this month!
Remember to spend time with the Savior. He is waiting!
As it seems to be happening often these days, the months are speeding by so quickly. Easter has come upon us and is gone. Mother's Day is quickly approaching and soon summer will be here. Today we are closer to seeing Jesus in the Rapture than ever before. For the Children of God, this is a happy thought! Looking at the beautiful clouds that are passing by on these bright and sunny afternoons makes us wonder "could that be the cloud He's going to step out on?"
For those who don't know Jesus as your Savior, fear and uncertainty may grip your heart if you don't know that you will spend Eternity with the Savior in Heaven. All mankind will leave eternally somewhere...heaven...or hell...
The choice is yours. Don't let the days go by so quickly that you can't find time to find Jesus. He's here...come and seek Refuge!
February has long been known as the "Season of Love" and with good reason. We celebrate Valentine's Day on the 14th! For Christians, though, every season should be the Season of Love. We should first love the Lord God with all our hearts, souls, and minds, then love our neighbors as ourselves. Sometimes that's much easier said than done. It's easy to love our spouses, our parents, and our children, but sometimes it's much harder to love our enemies and those who have sought to do evil against us. But...that's what we must do in order to obey His word. In the great scheme of things, loving our enemy is the least we can do. No matter how horrible we feel someone has been towards us, NOTHING is worth spending eternity in hell. That's something you shouldn't even wish on your worst enemy! NOTHING is worth missing heaven. One day, in the not too distant future, we will step on golden streets and all the hurt, and pain, and worry of this life will be over! Be an obedient child of God...LOVE!
Ready or not, here it is! 2015 is here, and what are we going to do about it? Our prayer for Refuge is that we turn to God in prayer and fasting more than we ever have before, trust Him to know what's best for us, and follow His lead without question. There is much to be done for the Kingdom of God and time is ticking away each day. Be ready for what God has in store...stay in touch with Him daily!
